The proposal is expected to save Americans $45 billion and unleash 210 million barrels of oil.
This week, President Donald Trump announced that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a revision of oil and natural gas regulations under the Clean Air Act. The proposal would create separate standards and categories for well sites, rescind certified third-party emission monitors, and split aspects of covers and closed vent systems into design and operational requirements.
“Behind every barrel of oil and every cubic foot of natural gas produced in the U.S. are millions of workers, businesses, and the heartbeat of this nation’s economy,” said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin. “We have listened to Americans’ concerns and are taking our biggest step yet to fix it. When owners and operators can produce, America benefits with lower prices.”
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said, “Today’s revision [will] unlock an estimated 210 million barrels of American oil and deliver an estimated $45 billion in taxpayer savings.”
Energy Secretary Chris Wright said, “The EPA’s proposal represents another commonsense effort by the Trump Administration to unleash American energy dominance, remove unnecessary regulatory burdens, and allow American producers to deliver more energy at lower costs.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump as he seeks to increase the nation’s energy production and lower the cost of fuel in the U.S.
- For Administrator Zeldin as he oversees the updates to previous regulations to improve energy affordability.
- For Secretaries Wright and Burgum as they collaborate with the EPA to maintain environmental protections while supporting energy production.
